The Future (Salvage Series)

‘Let’s not rush into this,’ Tina says.

Ben grins.

‘You said it yourself, we make a good team.’

She did. They do. But she can’t make a decision on a matter as huge as this without giving it proper consideration.

‘Say yes, Tina. Please. You know we’d be perfect together.’

She takes a deep breath. The vessel’s in dire need of repairs, but between the two of them, they have the experience. Once it’s fixed, they’ll have a boat of their own. No more stupid orders to follow. It’s a no-brainer.

‘Yes.’

Ben’s grin widens.

There it is: their future.

***

As far as I’m concerned, Tina and Ben are free to sail into the sunset by themselves. But I thought I’d killed them off when I wrote the first instalment of the Salvage Series, so I’m not going to say they’ll never come back.

I will come back to Jacqui – but maybe not tomorrow. Thank you for bearing with me while I strayed from business as usual. It shall now resume.

  1. Sonya I don’t want it to end! Reading the latest in this series has become a tradition, and as brilliant as they are, you’ve hinted at so much more going on, yet unwritten, that you simply must revisit this, maybe even as something longer. While you’ve wrapped it up very nicely, all the parts in between the snapshots are just as fascinating! Happily, I’ve no doubt that if a positive reaction will convince you, then we’ll see more of this in the future 🙂 Looking forward to whatever comes next!

    1. I think I will put the series up on WattPad and if I get a good reaction there, I’ll certainly come back to it. You’re right, the instalments are snapshots of the whole story, and there’s so much left unsaid. I am pretty sure I’ll come back to Jacqui because I want to know what motivates her.
Thank you for reading, I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂

  2. What a perfect ending for your characters – and what a tease! You had me going for a while there, thinking they were to be more than business partners. A really great serial – hope you do more 🙂

  4. I’ve really enjoyed reading this series, Sonya. I would definiterly be interested in reading another section from Jacqui’s viewpoint – I’m very curious as to her motives for stirring trouble. 🙂
