She lived a life that some would describe as being on the edge.
Her habit of giving the security detail the slip cause concern among her staff.
‘You cannot wrap yourself in cotton wool. And I believe we all agreed that I need to be a woman of the people. I cannot be that woman if I’m locked up in the ivory tower.’
‘But we can orchestrate such meetings.’
‘I’d much rather talk to real people.’
‘They will be real people.’
‘Vetted by the party and the MI5, no doubt.’
‘Yes, Prime Minister.’
‘I don’t want that protection the public.’
‘But terrorists might…’
‘Yes, that’s the argument to trample all opposition, isn’t it?’

Writing with a headache – never a recipe for great results. I’ll blame it for not really paying much attention to the MFtS photo prompt this week.
I do imagine life as an elected official or a celebrity would be difficult because of such things. Hope the headache has gone away

Thanks Kristina, luckily it’s gone. How’s your Nano going so far?

Day 1 and 2 were amazing. Day 3 was terrible. I was distracted by the fact that I haven’t done world building.

No fun writing with a headache-or that weird fuzzy, out of your brain feeliing you get when you’re tired. Well done for completing anything. 🙂
Just trying to work out if this is our Maggie or a fictionalised, future PM. Can’t think of many viable candidates …

No, no fun at all. Part of the reason why I’m so behind, I had to go to bed early last night…
It’s definitely not Maggie. I don’t think she cared much for real people. No idea who it might be, though. I wrote Mrs. President at first, but then decided against it.

Hope the headache’s finally gone. Yes, few male or female politicians I can think of who seem to give a hoot about the electorate – until we approach election time, of course.

Fell better soon!
Being surrounded by security would be a pain but a necessity, especially today.

Writing with a headache— you and I both sister! Great results though. This story makes me wonder why more politicians aren’t gung ho for stricter gun regulations.

The good thing is you still produced something worth reading in spite of the headache! I doubt if I would even try to write with a headache! 🙂

Isn’t it a shame how some “words” become the deal breaker and all conversation then stops?
