She’s run off again. She thinks he doesn’t know it’s not a work trip. She thinks he’s an idiot because she doesn’t make any effort of hiding it.
He sits at the table, the kitchen illuminated only by the streetlights outside. He refills his glass. He’s kept the bottle for a special occasion, yes, but he had another kind of special in mind.
He wishes he were the idiot she sees. Then they would have a future. He’s tried to be that idiot, looking away whenever she met with the other fella.
Not anymore.
He drinks to his unwanted freedom.
To the freedom !
Cheers!

Trying to be the idiot she thinks he is… Just to hold on to what they have, only to realise or decide it’s not working. Poor guy.

Most of us can only turn a blind eye for so long – we need to keep our self respect intact too.
Hope the last days of NaNo go well. You going to do a post about your progress? will you have accomplished what you wanted to?

Not sure if I’ll do a post about NaNo – at this point, all I have to say about it is I’m glad it’s over. I’ll have to assess what I’ve written – hardly any Scarlett, lots of flash and short stories, maybe even a new serial…

Sounds like a productive month to me – far more productive than mine! Well done for completing all of that. Now you can have a nice sit down and a cup of tea – or a gin, whichever you prefer 🙂
