Look into our eyes, mate,
‘cos you got it wrong.
It’s not soul you see, it’s resentment.

Welcome to Three Line Tales. Join in, if you want.
If enough people show interest, I’ll make it into a proper thing, with Rules and such (and submit it to the Daily Post Events page).
For now, take the picture (here’s the high res version) and write three lines to go with it. They can be poetry, or micro-fiction, or just a really long caption – everything goes as long as it’s three lines long. A link back to my post would be nice (and would make me feel obliged to swing by yours and read your three lines). Tag your post with 3LineTales and read at least a couple of other posts (if you want, post your three lines here in the comments, but I think they’d look much better on your blog).
Sound good? Good, off you go, those lines won’t write themselves.
Great idea…my entry is in 🙂 It’s rather twisted…

I’m in, but I need my computer. I’ll post it up in a few hours.

Great – there’s no rush, I did post it a bit late… Looking forward to reading it.

This is a great idea – and a great photo prompt. I’m in if I can organise myself around it.

Thanks Jane! Hope you’ll get round to it 🙂

So do I , but it doesn’t seem to have happened yet – I keep thinking that the inspiration is almost withing reach, but then it ducks away. The clue is the expression on the face of that calf on the left – it should be obvious what it is looking at, but I just can’t see it. I don’t know what’s the matter with me.

There’s no rush. I’ll do a round-up with links to everybody’s posts on Sunday, I think. But I’ll add yours later if necessary.

I’ll see what I can do. Right now my brain is so tired it’s form to hard a sentence proper. 🙂

Oh, and I love your take on it – cows have good cause to be resentful…

Thank you, Sonya! I found the photo hard to look at and so sad, therefore I had to write about it. 😉 Can you tell I’m vegan?! And thanks for the tweet – I’m still trying to wrap my mind around Twitter in addition to be a beginning (but, um, old) writer and blogger.

My pleasure! I love Twitter but I know a lot of people don’t see the point.
I was wondering if you’re veggie, so I almost guessed 🙂

(three-line caption)
Our pretty patches of brown and white don’t count
The numbers driven through our ears will count
When they come to take us
I think the comment about resentment’s right!
Thank you!

Thank you for the caption! They are pretty creatures, cows, if a bit odd-looking.

The cow’s beauty is indeed eccentric.

This might just be the perfect way to describe cows – thank you 🙂

Thanks, Melinda! I think it’s going to be lots of fun. Are you going to have a go or would it look too out of place on your blog?
LikeLiked by 1 person
You’re welcome. It would be out of place on my blog otherwise I’d try it.

Yes, I thought it might be the case. Well, should you ever feel so inspired that you’d want to join in, you could post yours in the comments. I think I’ll do a round-up on Sundays with links to everybody’s entries – I’d add a link to your “Why I write” post for people to be able to find you if they want.

hmmm, I’ll give it some thought. I have a tumblr account too that I’m not doing much with. So no editorial conflict there! I’m still trying to figure out why people use tumblr. WordPress is better.

Yes, I’ve a tumblr I hardly use these days, too. I agree, the community on WP is much better – better than on any other blogging platform, actually. But using yours for Three Line Tales sounds like a good idea to me 🙂

If there’s a community over there I haven’t found it 🙂 the there’s not even a good way to leave a comment or reply to one over there…or not that I’ve found…

I went back into my post and added the right tag. I’m not sure if that worked because I have never done that before.
