CampNaNo excerpt (1)

Since I loosely used this week’s Moral Mondays prompt, I thought I’d give you a little excerpt from the WIP:

‘We haven’t really made it yet. We’ve made it this far, at least.’

‘We’ll get away.’

‘What makes you so certain?’

‘I promised I’d help you.’

‘Why?’

‘Because blood is thicker than water.’

What the hell’s that supposed to mean?

‘You know, here’s another thing you should know about me. I’m no good talking to civilians.’

‘It’s a good thing I’m not a civilian, then, isn’t it?’

‘You’re a soldier?’

‘It’s been a long time since I was, petal. I used what the SAS taught me and turned it into a career a bit less dangerous and much more profitable.’

  1. Ooh, nice strong dialogue. Like that last line particularly – gotta love a woman who calls someone ‘petal’ while talking about the SAS. nice juxtaposition of tough and conversational. Looking forward to reading more 🙂
